The technology also includes infix: Preop, a virtual portal to track the patient pathway. Following a successful clinical trial at NHS Lanarkshire, Infix Support secured its first contract with NHS Lothian. The software was found to increase operating theatre utilisation by 27% and improve theatre efficiency by up to 37%, according to an independent review by the University of Stirling. With the NHS facing staff shortages and long wait times for patients, the technology aims to alleviate some of the challenges. NHS Lothian outpatient waiting times can average up to 103 weeks, and for general surgery, wait times vary from 4 to 82 weeks depending on the severity.
